MyBibleQuiz is a live quiz game for churches and youth groups. This page explains what it stores about you and why. The short version: as little as possible, never sold, no ads inside the game, and players are never tracked.
If you play a quiz
Players do not create an account. You type a nickname and a game PIN. Your nickname, answers and score are held in the server's memory only while the game runs, and are gone when it ends. The person running the quiz can download the final scoreboard, which lists nicknames and scores.
If you sign in to host quizzes
Hosts can sign in with Google or Facebook. When you do, we receive and store:
- your name and email address
- the web address of your profile photo
- an account number from Google or Facebook that identifies you to us
- when you first and last signed in
Hosts can also create an account with an email address and password. Then we store your name, your email address, when you signed up and last signed in, and your password in scrambled (hashed) form. Nobody, including the site owner, can read your password. We email you a link to confirm the address is yours; opening it lets you start hosting.
We use this only to recognise you when you come back, and so the site owner can approve who is allowed to run quizzes. To help hosts get started, the site owner may also keep private notes about your account — for example your church or group, a phone number you shared, and how many games you have run. These stay on this site, are never shared, and are deleted with your account. We do not post anything to your Google or Facebook account, read your contacts or friends, or ask for anything beyond your basic profile and email.
If you subscribe
Hosting is a subscription after a free trial. You pay by GCash or Maya yourself; this site never sees or stores your card, wallet login or PIN. When you tell us you have paid, we store the plan you chose, the amount, GCash or Maya, the reference number from your receipt, the name or number you say you paid from, and the receipt screenshot if you send one, so the site owner can match it to the payment. Only the site owner can see the screenshot. We also keep when your trial and paid time start and end, and send you a receipt and reminders before your time ends. Payment records are kept for the site owner's accounts and are not shared.
Emails
We email you only about your own account: a welcome when you sign up, a note when you are approved to host, your Windows app code, your payment confirmations and receipts, and reminders before your free trial or subscription ends. The site owner may also write to you personally. Every email comes from hello@mybiblequiz.site, and you can reply to it. We keep a copy of what we sent so we can answer your questions; it is deleted with your account.
We may also send a few emails with hosting tips and news about MyBibleQuiz, for example ideas after your first game. Every one of these has an unsubscribe link, and one click stops them for good (emails about your own account still arrive). We do not track whether you open or click our emails, and we never sell or share your address. If you unsubscribe and later delete your account, we keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of your address, so we can keep honouring your choice without keeping the address itself.
Cookies
Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and a second short-lived one that protects the sign-in step itself. Players get no cookies at all.
Meta Pixel (Facebook ads)
We advertise MyBibleQuiz on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads actually help churches find us, our public pages (home, pricing, blog, download) and the host console load the Meta Pixel. It tells Meta (Facebook) that a page was viewed and, once, that a new host account was created. Meta may set its own cookies and link this to your Facebook account, under Meta's privacy policy. We never send Meta your name, email or anything from your quizzes. You can control ads based on this in your Facebook ad settings, or block it with any browser tracker blocker; the site works the same either way.
The Pixel is never loaded on the player screens (the game PIN page and the game itself) or in the offline Windows app, so players are not tracked.
Microsoft Clarity (site usage)
To see where our public pages (home, pricing, blog, download) confuse people, they load Microsoft Clarity. It records how visitors scroll, click and move around those pages, shown to us as heatmaps and replays. Clarity hides what you type into forms, sets its own cookies, and handles the data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. A tracker blocker stops it, and the site works the same. Clarity is not loaded in the host console, on the player screens or in the offline Windows app.
What we do not do
- No ads inside the game, and no trackers on the player screens. Fonts are served from this site.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
Where it is kept
Account details are stored on this site's own server, hosted by Hostinger. Quizzes are kept there too.
Deleting your information
You can delete your account yourself at any time — see how to delete your data. It takes effect immediately.
